Hacking Windows Password Using Chntpw

Sorry  folks for the late Updates.... I had gone to my native place so i was not able to update my blog .In this article we will see How to hack windows Password using Chntpw - (Change NT passwords ) utility


Concept :- 
Windows Stores user accounts passwords in a file SAM . Which is located in ( C:/windows/system32/config ) With chntpw  software utility we will be able to reset or blank local passwords used by Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista, and 7. It does this by editing the SAM database It is included in many security focused Linux distributions such as BackTrack and Knoppix STD.

Things Required :

1. Chntpw utility

I will be using chntpw which is pre-installed in Backtrack

reset or blank the password - you mean, next time there will be no password prompt?

ya you can blank the password ......and there will be no password prompt when you login in .......you can also reset the password if u wish ........there are various options please watch the video for further details .........

great video and alot of people leave out the fact that the accounts sometimes lock which can be really annoying for a newbie and pretty sure chntpw is short for change the password
