What is SSH tunneling?
SSH  tunnel is an encrypted tunnel created through an SSH protocol connection. SSH tunnels may be used to tunnel unencrypted traffic over a network through an encrypted channel. In easy language, you can surf net without being monitored and even surf blocked sites too .If you are to curious to know more about SSH and SSH tunneling  .please have look at my guest post on SSH  from Here

4. Now open Tunnels in SSH options as shown

5. Now  enter the source port as 8888 (you can use any port) ,check dynamic finally click open and login with your SSH account details ( shell account details )

6. Now we have to configure our web browser to use the SSH connection in my case its FireFox

7. Open Firefox and go to the "Tools" menu and then click "Options"

8. Now click the "Advanced" button, then click  "Network" tab, and then click "Settings"

9. Now enter "local host" as the Socks Host and your port number, as "8888" into the Port field as shown

Note :- You can also use SSH  Tunneling to do anonymous surfing

If ur looking for a reliable one , then u got to setup ur own ssh server use "open shh " to create one

The disadvantage is that u must have two computers to achieve this if ur in ur office then u got to setup a ssh server at ur home pc !!

It's some what difficult for me to implement as i have only one pc....
But thanx for the solution..I came to know that i also can setup a SSH server on my own pc... i will surely try it and reply you soon..
thank you JOHN

john its really awesome...

TOR also has been blocked in our college..
we had no way to open blocked sites...
it helped us alot....i used for shell account..

every thing is going fine with SSH tunneling...
why should we use SOCKS and port 8888 there in browser settings???
and can it be any valid port number on client??
can we use any other browser like google chrome???

i tried openssh. But i am not able to do so.
could you write an article for us using openssh...
